Under the High Patronage of the Colombian Ministry of Defense, Expodefensa, an event dedicated to armed forces and security services, will present the latest technology, equipment and solutions to guarantee the Security and Defense of the sovereign nations of Latin America.
The Latin American continent is made up of porous borders, with a thriving underground economy and extensive intra-regional population movements. In these circumstances, the countries of this region of the world are confronted with multiple challenges to the security and defense of their populations: issues surrounding regional security, the regulation of migratory flows, border protection, the fight against trafficking and crimes against the environment, but also in addressing the effects of extreme climate events.
Expodefensa will be the platform between the region’s countries designed to facilitate exchanges and feedback on experience between governments and experts, to build the conditions of reinforced global security in Latin America.
As a showcase for multi-domain solutions (land, air, sea, space and cyberspace), Expodefensa will enable governments and all stakeholders from the military, police and civil protection forces to discover equipment and materials in the areas of protection, early warning, population assistance, victim protection, and to further the construction of a dual capability approach for reinforced civil-military cooperation.
This 2023 event will feature new emerging themes specific to the region’s security context:
- the space domain, as a growing opportunity in terms of security & defense,
- the safeguarding of natural and protected reserves,
- coordination and cooperation as part of crisis response and management.

Under the patronage of the Colombian Ministry of Defense, the exhibition is the global benchmark event for Defense & Security, in partnership with CORFERIAS (the Bogotá International Business and Exhibition Centre) and COGES EVENTS, a subsidiary of GICAT (French Land Defence and Security Industry Association) organizes international business-to-business events for Defense and Security (D&S).
Expodefensa is a two-yearly show, taking place in odd-number years. In 2023, Expodefensa will hold its 9th edition.
